Keanu Reeves' new Jekyll And Hyde movie will face some serious competition when it hits the big screen - Forest Whitaker and rapper 50 Cent have signed up to star in rival take on the classic tale.
Reeves is working on a new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novella The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, tentatively titled Jekyll, which is being masterminded by movie giant Universal Pictures.
But it's not the only Jekyll and Hyde tale heading to cinemas - Whitaker and 50 Cent are set to play the lead roles in a similar project which will be helmed by director Abel Ferrara.
The movie is due to begin shooting this summer (09), according to
Stevenson's well known story follows a doctor who invents a potion that unleashes his violent alter-ego. Past versions of the lead role have been played by a long list of Hollywood stars including Sir Michael Caine, Kirk Douglas, and John Malkovich.
