Katy Perry has promised fans more singles before her album is released.

The 'California Gurls' singer wants to keep supporters interested in her music because the release of her LP, `Teenage Dream', on August 24 is such a long way off.

Speaking to Chicago's Kiss FM she said: "We will have another single out really soon. Before the album comes out, I think a lot people will be hearing a lot of different songs - it won't just be one song to tide you over until then because it seems a little far away for me actually. I mean the whole world could explode before then."

Katy - who is engaged to British funnyman Russell Brand - released her last album, `One of the Boys' in June 2008 and admits she is amazed at how quickly time has gone by for her to be preparing for the release of a new record.

She continued: "I didn't think it would happen so quick - I was getting used to nine hours of sleep and maybe eating stuff I shouldn't be eating. But they woke me up and said 'It's time to be a pop star again' - I said this is never going to stop until I die in 2012.

"This record will probably hopefully take me on a fantastic tour and two years later I'll be ready to start a new one - there are already plans for tour dates."
