Katie Price is suing her ex-husband Peter Andre, to the tune of £250,000. The glamour model is accusing Andre and his management team of leaking private information - which The Mirror describes as "explosive details about her personal life" - about her and last week, she filed papers in the High Court, seeking damages for the "misuse of private information," which she claims has left her suffering "serious distress."
The defendants named in the case are Peter Andre - whom Katie (also known as Jordan) divorced three years ago - Katie's former manager Claire Powell, the management company Can Associates and her former friend Jamelah Asmar. Katie has accused her former manager, Ms Powell of trying to get false information from her employee Nicola Partridge, in order to start a smear campaign against Ms Price. This is alleged to have happened after Katie ended her working relationship with Ms Powell. The resulting email is "said to allege that Jordan was on the 'point of having an affair' with her riding instructor, Andrew Gould." The email is also said to contain private medical information. Katie claims that the existence of the email constitutes a breach of contract.
The court papers also include a statement, allegedly penned by Mr Asmar, which Katie claims was prepared by Peter Andre's lawyers and was intended to form the basis of a newspaper story that would have damaged Katie Price's reputation. The statement claims that Price had a secret relationship with Andrew Gould and even conceived a child, which she later aborted. Katie and Andrew have always denied any "romantic or sexual involvement." In her defence, Powell simply said "We consider that the claim is without merit. The matter is in the hands of our lawyers and will be defended vigorously."
