Katie Price says if she was Prime Minister she would raise the age of consent for plastic surgery from 18 to 21 because there is too much ''external pressure on young girls growing up today''.
Katie Price would raise the age limit for cosmetic surgery if she was the Prime Minister of Britain.
The former glamour model - who has had numerous operations and procedures to change her body - thinks the current age of consent of 18 is too young and she would increase it to 21 if she was in charge of the UK because people are more mature to make that sort of life-changing decision.
In an article written for The Independent newspaper entitled 'If I Were Prime Minister...', she stated: ''The first thing I would do would be to change the law around cosmetic surgery, increasing the age limit from 18 to 21. That may be surprising to many people, but having undergone a few surgeries myself, it is something I passionately believe in.
''External pressure on young girls growing up today results in too many turning to surgery at a very young age. Are they having surgery to try and please themselves, or is it to try and please other people? Cosmetic surgery carries risks, and they are risks that you are better equipped to understand at 21.''
Katie recently had first-hand experience of the risks when she had to have her latest breast implants removed - a reduction from a 32DD bust - after she contracted an infection. The TV star now has her natural breasts for the first time since 1998.
The 36-year-old beauty also vowed to overhaul disability services and accessibility across the country, improve care in nursing homes and reduce child care costs if she was to take David Cameron's job, and she'd love to give the Houses of Parliament in London a makeover.
She said: ''I'd like to think the Pricey would be the 'People's Prime Minister', and I'd certainly change the dull dark wood and leather green seating in Parliament for some glitz and glamour!''
Katie's 12-year-old son Harvey is disabled and has the genetic condition Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). She also has four more children, Junior, nine, Princess, seven, 19-month-old Jett and six-month-old Bunny.
Ahead of their upcoming tour, and prior to the release of their long awaited album, Smoke Fairies played a great warm-up gig at Elsewhere in Margate.
