The Heart of The Ocean, the 'Titanic' necklace that set off the whole train of events in terms of the love story between Jack and Rose, has been made available - well, five of them have actually. The Hollywood Reporter have revealed that Mexican jewellery designer Daniel Espinosa is going to create the replicas of the item in order to promote the release of the film's 3D reboot. Consisting of 106 diamond-cut zirconias each, set in sterling silver and rhodium plating that surrounds a blue heart-shaped zirconia, the pieces are said to be worth around $15,000 each.
In order to get a hold of one of the replicas, fans have to participate in an online contest on YouTube. The other pieces from the limited edition will find their way into a raffle or private collections. The 3D film's premiere was in London last week and saw most of the main stars attend including Kate Winslet, Billy Zane and director James Cameron. However one notable absentee was Leonardo Dicaprio, who played Jack.
There was no sinister reason afoot however, he was simply away filming on another project. OK! Magazine reported that he had seen some of the film already, though, with Cameron saying "I wish Leo could be here but he's shooting a film. It would have been great for Leo to be here, to be part of the celebrations. I didn't show him the whole film but I showed him 18 minutes of it a few months ago," Cameron continued, "It was a good reunion for us but great to watch his reaction. He couldn't believe it. He said to me, 'I'm such a young punk. Look at me.' He was practically crawling under the seat. It was a good moment."
