British police are set to launch an investigation into allegations Kate Moss indulged in the illegal drug cocaine.
Scotland Yard, the headquarters of London's police force, are to probe Moss after last week's (15SEP05) Daily Mirror newspaper published photographs purporting to show the supermodel snorting the narcotic in a London studio, where her on/off boyfriend Pete Doherty was recording.
A spokeswoman for Scotland Yard says, "Assistant Commissioner TARIQUE GHAFFUR has reviewed the matter and had asked officers from the specialist crime directive to look at reports as highlighted in a national newspaper."
The Yard added officers would need further evidence besides the Mirror photographs before they would proceed.
Following the revelations, Swedish clothing firm H+M (Hennes + Mauritz) have dropped Moss from her $1.8 million (GBP1 million) contract, declaring the revelations contradict their anti-drugs stance.
