The Almost Famous beauty put her team pride for the Super Bowl champions, the Denver Broncos, to one side to step out with Houston Texans defensive end, and she shared a brief clip of their outing on social media app Snapchat.

The cosy pair featured in a playful video using a filter which automatically adds animated stars onto one of the faces in the frame, and in the short footage, 27-year-old J.J. suggested their dinner was a romantic get-together.

"Apparently, the stars belong to the hottest person on the date," he smiled.

His remark has sent fans into a frenzy, but Kate, 36, has yet to comment on the rumours of a new romance.

Meanwhile, J.J.'s eagle eyed followers on social media have speculated the actress daughter of Goldie Hawn was also the subject of the sportsman's affections on Saturday (09Apr16), when he shared a caption-less photo on Snapchat of two wine glasses, roses and cookies for two.

If the stars are dating, J.J. won't be the first athlete to romance Kate. She was previously linked to New York Yankees baseball ace Alex Rodriguez in 2009.

More recently, the mother-of-two was reported to have struck up an unlikely relationship with 23-year-old pop star Nick Jonas, who she was photographed with on a skiing vacation in January (16).

The new dating speculation emerges days after the blonde beauty urged the media to stop guessing about her love life every time she is pictured with a male companion.

"It really feels like high school," she told InStyle magazine. "I can't say hello to anybody without (people speculating we're together). I don't comment when I'm single because some of them are right, some of them are wrong. But I end up with everybody anyway! I've been linked to every one of my brother's best friends. We're going to do a coffee table book of all of my 'mystery men'."
