Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has revealed he accidentally ran over his father and described it was ''the worst day'' of his life, adding that while the family joke about it now, it was ''awful'' at the time.
The rocker - who does not yet have a driving license - was told to release the car's handbrake by his dad, but ended up pressing down on the accelerator, and Tom Senior had to be rushed to hospital.
Speaking at Kasabian's Summer Solstice screening from Xperia Access the singer said: ''It was a freak accident, it was horrible. That was the worst day of my life.
''I can drive but it was in an automatic car. It was too fast. It was a real shock at the time ... It would only happen to me ... We have laughed about it now and that's all you can do.
''I'm very close to my dad. He's a very amazing person to have around, so that happening was awful.''
Meanwhile, Tom Junior revealed his own injury, admitting he suffers from tinnitus - hearing ringing in the ears when no sound is actually present - after years of touring and loud music.
He added: ''I've got tinnitus in both ears. It's my own fault though. I did it to myself. You've just got to try and shut it off.''
