Karl Lagerfeld may be a design hero, but he sure is losing friends in Britain this year after - following a right proper bashing of Adele for being "too fat" - he turned his ire on the sister of Kate Middleton, the delightful Pippa Middleton. Yes, The Sun reports that the choosy veteran is indeed a fan of the Duchess of Cambridge, at least; he said of her "Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for that boy. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties." But her sister? "On the other hand, her sister struggles." Oh no. Prepare yourself for another Lagerfeld zinger: "I don't like the sister's face. She should only show her back." Ouch.
Evidently Lagerfeld isn't the fan of the curvier figure; back in 2009 he'd insulted Heidi Klum - surely one of the more attractive women on our planet - by saying that she was "too heavy" and "had a big bust", which meant that she could never be a catwalk model.
No, it seems that rakish figures are more his thing, and there are few more, erm, rakier, than Victoria Beckham. "She is great. I like her a lot" said the designer of her. Of course he did. "I have known her for many years" he continued, adding "She had a career as a singer. She has a beautiful husband and stunning children and now she makes a career in fashion. And that body, after four children. There are not so many who have a body like that. She is very disciplined."
