Rapper Kanye West has been charged with attempted grand theft and misdemeanour battery following an alleged scuffle with a photographer at a Los Angeles airport in July (13).

The Stronger hitmaker's run-in with snapper Daniel Ramos at Los Angeles International Airport on 19 July (13) was caught on tape, and now officials have confirmed they are moving forward with a prosecution.

On Friday (13Sep13), West was hit with two charges relating to the alleged altercation and an arraignment has been set for 10 October (13).

If convicted on both counts, West faces up to a year in jail, or a $2,000 (£1,333) fine.

Ramos claims West wrestled him to the ground and tried to grab his camera, and he subsequently filed a lawsuit against the star.
