The British host of CBS’ The Late Late Show has revealed that he has twice booked the rapper, but due to scheduling conflicts he has been forced to pull out on both occasions.

Corden's segment, which sees celebrities such as Adele, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder and Michelle Obama ride in the passenger seat of his car while singing along to tunes has been a runaway success.

The Famous singer is still on board to film segment, but at the moment, Corden admits he has been unable to lock him down.

"Kanye has been booked twice now and both times something came up. He’ll do it eventually. He wants to do it," he explained in an interview with GQ.

And contrary to West's brash public persona, Corden claims the fashion-mad performer sent him a gift of three dozen roses “arranged in the shape of a cube” as means of apologising for the no-shows.

“What could be more Kanye than that?” he laughed.

Apple has just bought the rights to turn Carpool Karaoke into a spin-off series after it sparked a bidding war among cable and subscription video-on-demand outlets. The segments have been viral sensations for Late Late Show, which also nabbed an Emmy nomination for talk-variety show in its first year of eligibility.

While Corden waits on Kanye, the 37-year-old chat show host shares that his dream guest is Formation singer Beyonce.
