Kanye West's rap protege Big Sean has escaped a sex assault charge after agreeing to plead guilty to misdemeanour unlawful imprisonment and pay a $750 (£469) fine.
The hip-hop star, real name Sean Anderson, and an associate were arrested in August (11) following an alleged encounter with a female fan following a concert with Wiz Khalifa in Lewiston, New York.
The two men were accused of forcible touching, unlawful imprisonment and sexual abuse.
They appeared in Niagara County Court at the beginning of September (11), when the judge issued a gag order on the case because the alleged victim is just 17.
On Wednesday (26Oct11), prosecutors agreed to drop the abuse and assault charges if Anderson, 23, pleaded guilty to misdemeanour unlawful imprisonment.
His lawyer Scott Leemon tells Tmz.com the rapper has accepted the terms and paid the fine, but he insists his client "did not engage in any type of sexual misconduct".
