Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson was baffled when he found out his former bandmate Nick Hodgson has swapped life in a rock group for writing pop songs for British singer Olly Murs.

Hodgson, the group's drummer and main songwriter, left the band after 15 years in 2012 to write and produce tracks for other artists.

It recently emerged that Hodgson has swapped rock for pop by writing songs for former The X Factor star Murs, and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Wilson is astounded by the news.

He tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "He's changed his tune a bit. One of the reasons he didn't want to be in band any more is that he didn't want to be written about, so it's weird that he's telling people he's working with Olly Murs.

"I can't believe I've been replaced by Olly Murs but I'm glad that he's got a gig. I wonder if it will sound like Kaiser Chiefs?"
