Prior to the highly anticipated England vs. Sweden European Championship match Kyiv Olympic Stadium, Leeds, UK based indie band and footie fanatics the Kaiser Chiefs express their confidence for England's victory.
The Leeds United supporting group's frontman Ricky Wilson predicted an assured 9-0 win for England with the agreement of bass player Simon Rix. The band also showed their support by visiting Wembley Stadium and experiencing the England team's changing room by posing with their idols' shirts for photos which they posted on Twitter. 'I normally don't even get nervous before playing a big gig but being in the England changing room with the shirts hung up put a lump in my throat and definitely got me excited about the Sweden game,' Ricky said speaking at Wembley.
Kaiser Chiefs (incidentally, named after a South African football club) were also presented with Wembley Way Stone; a new way of creating a landmark where fans can purchase a granite stone (with prices ranging from £50 to £495) to create their own messages for the England football team as a long lasting tribute on Wembley Way. The stones will line the perimeter of the stadium replacing the existing bricks. 'Being presented with a Wembley Stone for showing our support was a massive honour', said Rix. 'Although we've played all over the world, we've never managed to get to play at Wembley and it's definitely something we'd all like to do one day.'
