Justin Bieber shut down New York City's Rockefeller Center on Friday (04Jun10) after thousands of screaming teenage fans flocked to see him perform a free show for U.S. TV.
The Baby hitmaker, 16, appeared as part of the summer concert series for breakfast programme The Today Show - and was shocked when anchors told him girls with 'Bieber fever' had slept outside on the city streets since Wednesday (02Jun10) to get prime seating for the performance.
The singer called the turnout "crazy", before greeting female fans, who cried at the shake of his hand, before he took the stage.
And the screaming teen mob was so loud, fellow guests - funnyman Jonah Hill and actress Elisabeth Moss - cut a promotional interview for their new film Get Him to the Greek short to comment on the frenzy.
Standing next to Moss, who covered her ears outside, Hill shouted: "Excuse me, I need to go see Justin Bieber!"
