Julie Bowen's sons are constantly getting injured.

The 'Modern Family' star - who has three sons, Oliver, Gustav and John, with her husband Scott Phillips - claims her life is extremely chaotic and she is constantly taking her children to the emergency room.

The 43-year-old actress told 'The Talk' on Tuesday (21.05.13): ''I've got a six-year-old and four year-old twin boys and they are at that age where hell breaks loose - literal hell breaks loose.

''They're great and they're wonderful but they really need someone around right now. It's much more about that than emotional drama, at least right now. I never even knew what urgent care was. It is a place that is open on Sunday, the only day my children get injured, and I know where they are and which ones have an X-ray machine. Sadly I've become all too familiar with them.

''One of the boys fell off something and broke his collarbone and we didn't know it for a few days. This was on his second birthday so now we take him in a lot.''

The blonde beauty previously revealed her eldest son Oliver once suffered a life threatening allergic reaction after a bee stung him while eating peanut butter when he was almost two years old.

The actress - who plays Claire Dunphy on the hit comedy show - said: ''It was so scary. I immediately panicked.

''His entire face swelled up, his eye swelled shut and his lips became giant. We took him to the ER, where he was treated with an EpiPen, and ever since then we've been vigilant about keeping him safe.''

The Emmy award winner said she keeps her own EpiPen auto-injector - a device used to deliver a specific dose of Epinephrine to treat the symptoms of an allergic reaction - close to hand at all times.

She said: ''If he has a play date, it goes in a backpack with him.''
