Julianne Moore has signed on to play the former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin in a new movie for HBO.
Julianne Moore, the Oscar nominated actress, will play the controversial Republican politician Sarah Palin in a forthcoming Hbo project, reports People Magazine. The 50-year-old, who recently gained acclaim for her performance alongside Annette Bening in 'The Kids Are Alright', will portray Palin in the forthcoming movie 'Game Change', based on the best-selling book of the same name by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin. The publication caused controversy earlier this year, revealing a number of stories about Palin's behaviour on the 2008 Presidential election campaign. The new movie, which is being directed by 'Meet The Parents' filmmaker Jay Roach, is expected to concentrate on John McCain's controversial decision to select Palin as his running mate. Danny Strong, who most recently appeared as an actor in 'Mad Men', is penning the script.
No official release date has been announced for 'Game Change', but it is thought that the movie will hit television screens in the fall. Julianne Moore will first star in the comedy-drama 'Crazy, Stupid, Love', alongside Ryan Gosling and STEVE CARELL.
