Judy Garland's singer daughter Lorna Luft has hit out at stars who perform her mother's signature tune SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW - because none of them understand the song.

Luft, who performs a melody over her mother's classic Wizard Of Oz tune as part of touring show SONGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME in America, hates to hear others attempt the song.

She says, "Nobody should sing that song. I don't think that anybody understands it, does it justice, as well as my mom. It's too much of a signature.

"In my show, I'm not trying to be Judy. I'm celebrating the legacy of music she left to us all."

Garland's Somewhere Over The Rainbow was voted the Song of The 20th Century in a 2000 poll.
