DAME Judi Dench learned a lot about her fellow actors when she sat in the director's chair - as the cast ensemble decided to gang up on her. The IRIS actress admits she often felt alienated being on the other side of the stage after being ostracised by the actors she was working with. But the star admits she is guilty of bullying the director when the roles are reversed. She says, "With theatre directing, they (the cast) gang up against you. They say, 'We're going to the pub' and don't tell you where the pub is! "It's a curious thing. You think, 'I don't do that' but of course I do that. I gang up against directors straight away."
