English actor Jude Law believes his 2004 flop Alfie would have been more successful if the lead character had been a woman. Law met his on/off girlfriend Sienna Miller on the set of the remake of the 1966 SIR MICHAEL CAINE movie, which only took $24 million (GBP13 million) at the US box office in two months. And he is now convinced the movie would have been better received if the lead character had been transformed from a womanising charmer into a maneating woman. He says, "One person said something that I have to be honest I agreed with. "Which was that Alfie should have been a woman, in a modern version. I thought that was brilliant. "I think that statement sort of summed up maybe where went wrong."
