Late JOY DIVISION frontman Ian Curtis' life story is proving such an exciting prospect for movie-makers, two separate film projects are now in the works.

Earlier this year (04) it was announced SECRETARY producer Amy Hobby was planning to bring the LOVE WILL TEAR US APART star - who hanged himself in 1980, aged 23 - back to life, with Moby on board to provide the film's soundtrack.

But now it's emerged an adaptation of his widow DEBORAH's biography TOUCHING FROM A DISTANCE is also being written up for the big screen.

The iconic British singer has previously been portrayed in STEVE COOGAN-starring movie 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE, which documents the Manchester music seen in the eighties.
