Soul sensation Joss Stone refuses to regret comparing US President GEORGE W Bush to a farmer, because she remains convinced he is too "normal" to be in such a high position of power.

The British singer - who has rocketed to fame in the US - sparked outrage with her comments after meeting the premier, but she has resisted calls to backtrack on her critical judgment, insisting he really is just an ordinary man with far more responsibilities than he should be allowed.

She says, "He's like my next-door neighbour, and my next-door neighbour is a farmer - that's what I meant. He doesn't know what he's doing, obviously, but my point was, he's not an evil man.

"The people around him might be evil, but he's just a normal bloke, and I don't believe a normal bloke should run the world."
