British Pop Star Joss Stone Has Stripped To Raise Awareness About The Unethical Treatment Of Of Crocodiles And Alligators, Which Are Killed To Make Handbags.
The You Had Me singer has teamed up with activists at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for a photo campaign, in which she poses topless while covered in bodypaint, making her skin resemble that of the reptiles.
A recent PETA report suggested the animals were raised and killed in poor conditions in order to produce designer handbags. PETA bosses have also claimed it takes two to three of the creatures to make just one handbag.
Speaking about the poster campaign, Joss called on people to avoid reptile skin handbags.
"Although I'm not as familiar with crocodiles as I am with dogs and horses, I know that all animals are capable of suffering," she says.
"I hope when people see footage of what happens to crocodiles and alligators killed for their skin to be turned into handbags, they'll join me in leaving wildlife out of their wardrobes."
