Joseph Brooks' former assistant has pleaded guilty to helping the late songwriter lure women he was accused of sexually assaulting.
Shawni Lucier entered a guilty plea to criminal facilitation on Wednesday (25May11) - just four days after the Academy Award winner took his life while awaiting trial at the age of 73.
Brooks, best known for penning the hit You Light Up My Life, had pleaded not guilty to molesting or raping 13 women he invited into his apartment.
Prosecutors claim Lucier helped Brooks by screening women and arranging meetings for him, according to the Associated Press.
Lucier faces up to six months in jail.
Brooks was found dead at his New York home on Sunday (22May11) after committing suicide.
