LATEST: Paedophile Jonathan King has been ordered to stop protesting his innocence for the sake of his victims, following his release from jail yesterday (29MAR05).
The disgraced pop mogul - who discovered bands like Genesis and 10CC - served less than half of his seven-year jail sentence for four indecent assaults and two serious sexual offences on boys aged 14 and 15.
But as King left Maidstone Prison in Kent, England, he announced, "I'm totally, absolutely 100 per cent innocent," sparking watchdogs to insist he keeps silent out of respect to the victims he's left emotionally scarred by his crimes.
NORMAN BRENNAN of the VICTIMS OF CRIME TRUST says, "He used his position of fame and celebrity thinking victims would not come forward and give evidence against him. But he is wrong.
"The best thing for him to do for the sake of his victims brave enough to give evidence is to just shut up."
The 60-year-old will be closely monitored by a police protection panel and is not allowed visits to his home from anyone under the age of 18 without prior police consent.30/03/2005 02:30
