Jonah Hill put in a sterling showing as host of the long running 'Saturday Night Live' at the weekend, but sadly for the Oscar-nominated actor it wasn't enough to maintain the same interest in the show that Lindsay Lohan's much publicized appearance the weekend beforehand had.
Hill was always going to be up against it; Lohan's appearance was seen by many as a great return to prominence following months of toil and community service as she sought to rebuild her reputation following a series of convictions. Although critics weren't wholly responsive to the star when the big moment finally came, she nevertheless drew an impressive 5.5 rating for her turn. Hill however couldn't even turn a guest appearance from legendary Hollywood actor Tom Hanks into a successful score, clocking in at a much, much lower 4.3 in the metered-market household, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Worryingly for the 'snl' team, the all important 18-49 age demographic failed to ignite whatsoever with an average 2.6 rating down double digits from last week.
