Rocker Jon Bon Jovi credits his decision not to move to Hollywood at the beginning of his career for keeping him grounded and his group still together.

The IT'S MY LIFE star briefly flirted with Tinseltown in the early 1980s and admits he almost moved there until he realised that applying make-up for club shows wasn't really for him.

He says, "Hollywood's not for me and playing the game out there, which adds value to your ticket - if you want to sell your soul, it's short term and it never appealed to me.

"I saw through it as a kid and came back east."

Bon Jovi still lives in New Jersey, where he grew up.
