Politically-conscious rocker Jon Bon Jovi has shrugged off terrifying death threats to host a fundraiser for presidential hopeful John Kerry at his New Jersey home.

The LIVIN ON A PRAYER frontman invited 300 celebrities to his lavish property to rally support for Democratic candidate Kerry, who hopes to oust incumbent President George W Bush from office in November's (04) elections.

And despite receiving a number of threats on his life and an avalanche of hate mail, Jovi told guests including Meg Ryan and James Gandolfini he has already raised an incredible $1 million (GBP555,000) for Kerry's campaign.
