Teenage chart sensation JoJo's rise to the top has been tarnished by a campaign of jealousy in her hometown.

At the tender age of 13, the singer - real name JOANNA LEVESQUE - has stormed the charts in her native America and is currently transporting her success across the Atlantic in Britain.

But she insists her fame has come at a price - since she first appeared on BILL COSBY show KIDS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS.

Jojo says, "I had girls randomly coming up to me on the street, calling me a b*tch, saying hateful, hateful things. They thought I bragged - I only told them what was going on with me. If they think that it's bragging because they're not doing anything with their lives, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I want to fulfil my dream and I do what makes me happy.

"Now, you know, they come to me with, 'Oh Jo, we should have hung out more.' No we shouldn't have. You should have been nice to me."
