Johnny Depp has been keeping a bedside vigil for his seriously ill daughter in hospital, according to reports.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean actor and his partner Vanessa Paradis have spent the last nine days with their seven-year-old daughter Lily-Rose, who is said to be in a "serious condition".

According to the Sun newspaper, Depp had been due to start work in a new film in England when she became sick.

Depp and Paradis, who live in France, are said to have been arriving at the British hospital in a blacked-put people carrier and then entering through a staff door.

The name of the hospital and nature of Lily-Rose's condition is not being published to protect the family's privacy.

Depp had arrived in the UK to film a screen version of the musical Sweeney Todd, in which he stars as Sweeney the demon barber of Fleet Street.

"Johnny is deeply concerned about his daughter," a source at the studio told the tabloid.

"As soon as he heard that she is unwell he went to her bedside. He will do anything for his kids."

Paradis and Depp, who have been together for nearly ten years, also have a four-year-old son, Jack.
