British rocker Johnny Borrell hopes Razorlight fans will purchase his music in vinyl form rather than download it from the internet.

Borrell remains unimpressed by the news that the UK singles chart featured internet downloads for the first time ever today (17APR05).

The 25-year-old Londoner says, "If it makes the singles chart more reflective of what people are actually listening too, like the album chart, then I suppose that could be good.

"But personally I like the whole idea of the seven inch (record).

"Hearing a song and then going out and buying the single - there's something romantic about it.

"Like when The Jam released a single and 400,000 people dashed out to buy it.

"That appeals to me more than people downloading from a computer, but I guess times change."

(IS THIS THE WAY TO) AMARILLO by TONY CHRISTIE FT PETER KAY is this week's number one UK single, in the first chart to incorporate legitimate internet downloads.
