John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John classic GREASE has topped a poll of Britain's favourite musicals, beating off stiff competition from Andrew Lloyd Webber offerings, Les Miserables and West Side Story.
The sing-along show, which was made into a 1978 film, thrilled audiences worldwide with hits such as GREASED LIGHTNIN' and YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I WANT, as well as memorable performances from a slick Travolta and sexy Newton-John playing leads DANNY and SANDY.
The survey, commissioned by the Wales Millennium Centre, saw Rocky Horror Picture Show grab second place, while THE Phantom Of The Opera came in third on the list.
And Andrew Lloyd Webber's success continued further down the poll, with CATS taking eighth spot while JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT was in at five.
Convent caper The Sound Of Music closed the list at number 10.
