CROCODILE HUNTER STEVE IRWIN's eight-year-old daughter BINDI will bravely honour a commitment made by her late father when she presents an award at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in Australia tonight (10OCT06). Irwin had booked the fun night out two months ago as a special treat so his daughter could meet her favourite TV and music stars. But following his tragic death last month (SEP06), after a fatal stingray attack, the Irwins' agreed to honour the commitment and the Crocodile Hunter, as well. Bindi and her mother TERRI will fly to Sydney to present the night's top prize. The family's manager John Stainton told the Sydney Daily Telegraph newspaper, "(Bindi) was so excited to be going to Sydney for the awards with her daddy. "When tragedy struck and the dust settled, I asked Terri if she'd consider doing it in Steve's honour and they both agreed. "It was going to be an amazing night for them both. But now they'll go in honour of him." It will be the family's first public appearance since the tearful memorial at Australia Zoo, where Bindi spoke of her "hero" father as she read a poignant tribute she had written herself.
