John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono has released a new video to accompany their song HAPPY XMAS (WAR IS OVER), containing disturbing new images of war and destruction.

A new DVD features the song set to updated images of war and destruction from the recent Iraqi conflict and footage from the World Trade Center attacks, amongst other events, in a bid to ask people to consider the state of the world.

Ono tells newspaper THE SCOTSMAN, that, although the images are tough-going, the message is of peace and "John would have wanted it that way".

The DVD, which includes 20 Lennon tracks, will also feature previously unseen footage of the beatle, including pictures of him hanging around in Central Park near the couple's New York home, cuddling with Ono and visiting a zoo. The disc is scheduled for release in Canada on 4 November (03).
