A ship's log book in which John Lennon wrote an account of a storm-hit trip to Bermuda in 1980 is to be auctioned in London next month (APR06). The narrative features accounts by the former beatle of his battles against raging winds and of singing traditional Liverpudlian shanty songs as he steered the Megan Jayne after the entire crew had fallen ill. Lennon later credited his experiences at sea with curing his writer's block, allowing him to write his last studio album - DOUBLE FANTASY - before his murder later that year (80) on 8 December. Auctioneers hope the book will fetch around GBP25,000 ($42,500) when it goes on sale at the British capital's Madame Tussauds museum.
