John Legend can't wait to meet his baby boy.

The 39-year-old singer and his wife Chrissy Teigen are preparing for the arrival of their second child, and despite harboring some nerves, John is also eager to welcome the newest member of his family into the world.

He shared: ''It's always exciting because you never know what they're going to be like. You're just excited that another product of your relationship and your love is going to be out there in front of you.''

John and Chrissy - who already have 23-month-old daughter Luna - have turned to IVF to have a baby boy.

And he is excited to see his two children interact with each other.

The 'All of Me' hitmaker told Entertainment Tonight: ''We're just excited to see how we're going to be as parents of two, and how Luna is going to be as a big sister. It's going to be really exciting and fun.''

The award-winning singer is also excited by the prospect of Chrissy interacting with their son.

John explained: ''We'll see how he is with his mom, because you know, I hear sons are really good with their moms.''

Meanwhile, Chrissy previously defended the couple's decision to have a baby boy via IVF.

The 32-year-old model addressed the criticism on Twitter, saying: ''Since this is coming up again, I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left. A boy. So. Yeah. (sic)''

Subsequently, one Twitter user said: ''Did you give it a minute to try naturally or are you avoiding 'the act?'''

But Chrissy again took umbridge, revealing she'd spent years trying to conceive naturally.

She explained: ''Hi Linda, thanks for asking, you complete witch. I tried for about 9 years. Anything else, let me know! (sic)''
