James Bond composer John Barry is set to be honoured for his work at the Classic Brit Awards next month (May11).
The Oscar-winning musician, who wrote theme tunes for 11 Bond films including From Russia with Love and You Only Live Twice, suffered a fatal heart attack in January (11).
His legacy will be remembered with a posthumous prize at the Classic Brit Awards at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Dame Shirley Bassey will sing the iconic Barry track Goldfinger, while the London Chamber Orchestra will perform a selection of his best-known scores.
His widow Laurie Barry says, "John would be so honoured to be receiving the outstanding contribution to music award... We are very grateful."
In June (11), the Royal Albert Hall will also host a Barry tribute concert featuring appearances from Sir Michael Caine and former 007 Timothy Dalton.
