Joan Rivers was just days away from filming a role in Jerry Seinfeld's web-series Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee at the time of her death earlier this month (Sep14).

The sitcom star has shared a screen-shot of a text conversation confirming Rivers' appearance on his acclaimed show and revealed the veteran comedienne's slot was postponed after she scheduled a medical procedure.

In a message posted on, he writes, "I just came across this heartbreaking text on my phone from August 19th. I had asked Joan Rivers to be our lead guest on the new season of Comedians in Cars, and she was thrilled. Then we got a call saying she was going in for a medical procedure and needed to postpone. I would have loved to have shown another side of her. I wanted to tell her how much I admire all she had accomplished, especially in the latter stages of her career. She was one of the greats. I'll miss her."

Rivers, 81, was placed in a medically-induced coma after suffering a cardiac arrest during a routine throat exam. She died a week later on 4 September (14).
