Joan Rivers' lawyers scored a legal victory for the late comedienne the day before she died in a New York hospital on Thursday (04Sep14).

The Fashion Police host had been locked in a $15 million (£8.8 million) legal battle with former neighbour Elizabeth Hazan since last year (13), after she alleged Rivers went overboard in her role as their condominium's president, cutting her cable and filling her door locks with glue after she fell behind on her bills.

In November (13), a judge issued a preliminary injunction banning Hazan and the condo owners from using the apartment she once lived in until the debts were settled, and this week (begs01Sep14), Hazan, Rivers' lawyers and the condo board members reached an undisclosed settlement, according to the New York Daily News.

The good news came as the 81 year old's daughter Melissa revealed her mother had died a week after suffering a cardiac and respiratory arrest during a routine throat operation.
