Country singer Jo Dee Messina suffered a scare on Tuesday night (29Jan13) as storms battered her home in Nashville, Tennessee.
Heavy wind and rain hit the area, and tornado warnings were issued to residents, prompting Messina to usher her two young sons to a safer place in their property.
Detailing the drama on her Twitter.com page, Messina writes, "Getting ready for crazy weather here 2nite (tonight). Weather radio is already set up in basement. C**p! Tornado warnings. No lightening so its hard to see the sky. Just got crazy outside.
"Got boys downstairs. Not in basement yet. Carries them down sleeping. Lights r (are) flickering. 7000 (without) power right now. 105 mph wind in areas. Boys r (are) now Awake. Baby has been doing so good w (with) sleeping (until 5 or 6 usually) storms r (are) dying down a bit."
Returning to the site on Wednesday morning (30Jan13), Messina added, "Well we made it through the night. We r (are) all exhausted. My best friend had kids in bathroom I had boys by basement."
Fellow singer Chely Wright reached out to her pals in the city, writing on her own Twitter page, "Sending love to all of my Nashville friends who got hit by some pretty bad weather last night. Hope you're all okay."
