The funnywoman spent a week trekking 136 miles (218 kilometres) across the width of the U.K. from east coast to west coast in aid of Sport Relief, which benefits a range of charities.

She finished the gruelling feat in Liverpool, north England on Thursday evening (28Jan16) and thanked all those who came out to support her during the walk as they kept her spirits up.

After completing the challenge, which was sponsored U.K. telecoms giant BT, Jo said, "I feel shattered. But I wanted to do this to raise shed loads of money for Sport Relief because it helps a huge amount of people. Especially projects that mean a lot to me.

"But also, I wanted to show fat old women that they could walk! It was so windy - can you believe someone of my weight was blown over by the wind? But it was so fantastic to walk across a massive swathe of the country and see how generous, friendly and community-minded people are. I can't thank everyone enough. It's overwhelming."

Jo had raised $993,300 (£662,200) by the end of her walk but the total is likely to rise as donations continue to pour in.
