TV personality Sir Jimmy Saville has been mugged by a woman in Leeds, but has called the incident a "marvellous" experience.
The former DJ said the thief pounced on him as he was leaving a function at the city's Queens Hotel, stealing his John Lennon-esque glasses, but added that he revelled in the excitement.
"The fact I've not been mugged for over 50 years, I thought it was marvellous, it was just like old times," he told the BBC.
He explained: "She was walking alongside me and the next thing she reaches up - I thought she was going to give me an Embrace, but she grabbed my glasses and took off down the corridor."
"I thought, 'I've been mugged. How wonderful'."
The 81-year-old former Top Of The Pops and Jim'll Fix It presenter, who now lives in Roundhay, said the opportunist mugger made off with his spectacles just after midnight on Wednesday.
He added: "I've told the Police that if the girl turns up and I get my glasses back, I will give her a box of chocolates for giving me a 1950s thrill in 2007.
"It was a moment of 'don't care' and I think the glasses will finish up on eBay."
