Disgraced Tv presenter Sir Jimmy Savile gloated about receiving a $300,000 (£200,000) payout from British newspaper The Sun over child abuse allegations that turned out to be true.

The Dj, who was unmasked as a serial paedophile following his death in 2011, was quizzed by police in 2009 over claims he molested children in the 1970s, but he flatly denied any wrongdoing.

During the interview with cops, which has been made public this week (beg14Oct13) following a Freedom of Information request, he also bragged about his determination to take his accusers to court and made reference to a payout he received from newspaper bosses when they attempted to unmask him years earlier.

Savile, who was a British national treasure in his lifetime for his Tv shows and charity work, received a payment from The Sun after editors tried to expose his sordid past.

He told police, "I had them and it cost them like £200,000 because they were out of order... I'm known in the trade as Litigiousness because... I'm willing to pull people into court straight away, no messing, thank you... people get quite nervous actually because for somebody that don't (sic) want to go to court, I love it."
