Veteran entertainer Jimmy Buffett was discharged from hospital on Thursday (27Jan11), just a day after falling off stage during a concert in Australia.
The 64-year-old Margaritaville singer was performing at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on Wednesday (26Jan11) when he took a nasty tumble during the show finale.
Buffett, who sustained a severe cut to his head, was placed on a gurney and taken to the city's St. Vincent's Hospital, where he received several stitches for the gash.
A medical centre spokesperson confirmed he was in a stable condition four hours after he was admitted, and Buffett was ruled well enough to be discharged on Thursday.
A post on the star's website reads, "Jimmy has been released from the hospital and is doing well."
Buffett is expected to take to the stage in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday (29Jan11).
Surgeon Gordian Fulde tells ABC Radio, "He just needs a bit of rest and there's every expectation that he will be able to get to New Zealand to do his concert there."
