Veteran entertainer Jimmy Buffett is "doing well" and is expected to be discharged from hospital on Friday (28Jan11) after falling offstage during a concert in Australia.
The 64-year-old Margaritaville singer was performing at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on Wednesday (26Jan11) when he took a tumble during the show finale.
Paramedics tended to Buffett, who lay on the ground with his head bleeding, and placed him on a gurney as they transported him to the city's St. Vincent's Hospital.
Denise Coughlan, spokeswoman for the medical centre, confirmed he was in a stable condition four hours after he was admitted, although she refused to give details about his injuries.
A representative for Buffett has now assured fans he is fine and already on the road to recovery and will be released from doctors' care soon.
A statement posted on his website Margaritaville.com reads: "As you probably know, Jimmy had an accident while performing in Sydney last night and was taken to the hospital. The doctors said he is doing well and will be released tomorrow."
