A guitar Jimi Hendrix bought for $25 (£20) 65 years ago has gone under the hammer at an auction in London for over $248,000 (£200,000).
Hendrix sold the Epiphone acoustic, which was one of the highlight items at Thursday's (15Dec16) Bonhams sale, to Blue Mink guitarist Alan Parker.
It was expected to sell for around $124,000 (£100,000) at the classic celebrity memorabilia auction.
Other hit lots included a Cloud Guitar belonging to late singer Prince, which sold for $109,000 (£87,500) - more than triple its lowest estimate; a Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cutaway signed by B.B. King, which sold for $28,000 (£22,500), and a 1973 Aladdin Sane album cover signed by the late David Bowie, which broke a world record for his autographed album covers, selling for $8,700 (£7,000).
