The biggest ever exhibition of Jimi Hendrix memorabilia will go on show in Seattle from 7 June (03).

Entitled THE EXPERIENCE MUSIC PROJECT, it follows the HEY JOE axeman's life from his childhood to musical superstardom and his death in 1970.

It includes such gems as his stage costumes from the ISLE OF WIGHT festival and guitars that he played at WOODSTOCK and the MONTEREY POP FESTIVAL.

Hendrix fans will also be able to feast their eyes on private letters, photos, childhood drawings and jewellery, amongst other items.
