The British Olympian announced her retirement in October last year (16) after taking Olympic heptathlon silver in Rio. She and her husband Andy Hill have a son Reggie. And she shared the happy news by posting a photograph of two-year-old Reggie holding a book entitled "I'm Going to be a Big Brother!" on her Instagram account. The accompanying caption read: "Someone's going to be a big brother. Another little Ennis-Hill on the way. So happy."

Ennis-Hill married Hill in 2013 and said at the time that she would wait until she retired from professional sport to start a family.

After Reggie came along in 2014, she returned to athletics the following year and won gold at the World Championship in Beijing before just falling short of defending her Olympic title the following summer (16) in Brazil.
