Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain is being tipped to star in the forthcoming production of Iron Man 3 according to Hollywood Reporter. The next instalment in the series of Marvel Studios' comic book adaptations is set to start filming in five weeks and will come hot on the heels of Avengers Assemble.
Robert Downey Jr plays the central character in Iron Man 3 and Gwyneth Paltrow is set to remain as the female lead. In fact, it looks as though the role of Iron Man's long suffering girlfriend, Pepper Potts will be "beefed up" in the third instalment of the Iron Man franchise. Shane Black will direct the movie, which will also reportedly star Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce as newcomers to the film series. In an interview for Collider.com at the start of 2012, Robert Downley Jr said "I think that we have an opportunity with the third Iron Man to make the best of the three, and maybe one of the better superhero movies that's ever been made. But I think we have to remember what made the first one good. It was very character-driven. It was very odd. It was kind of outrageous. And so I think we have to have the courage to trust that the audience is really kind of cool, and smart."
Jessica Chastain has a busy time ahead of her, with the forthcoming release of Lawless, which also stars Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce. She also voices the role of Gia in Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, also due out shortly.
