Jessica Alba cut her hair because she wanted to be ''cool''.

The 'Sin City' actress - who has daughters Honor, five, and Haven, two, with husband Cash Warren - says her new shoulder-length style has been a hit at home, even though she is unsure whether she is pulling off the look she was hoping for.

She said: ''The girls are into it, I wanted to look cool, I was like 'Make it a cool thing', so it's shorter at the back, it's all uneven, I don't know if it's cool, but Honor thought it was cool.''

The 32-year-old beauty attributes her stunning looks and slender figure to a healthy lifestyle that involves eating well and being active.

Asked for her tips on looking good and being healthy, she told E! News: ''More organic produce in your life, it's better than packaged. Water is essential. Water is awesome.

''If you can be active in anyway shape or form, it's always good to keep the blood flowing for your mind, for your mental state, but also obviously, you know, for your body.

''If you can do it two or three times a week, a bit of exercise, whether it's yoga or going for a walk or cycling, a dance class, whatever it is, go for it.''
